Democracy is not only a form of rule, but also a way of life. In a liberal democratic society, however, democracy always depends on democratic values and forms of behaviour being practiced and lived. For this reason, democracy must also be an issue in child day-care facilities in line with age and development. The anthology invites the reader to explore the topic and shows ways in which democracy and participation can be practiced, lived and developed in day care facilities. The primary goal should be an education to maturity. It is important to live and exemplify values and procedures such as majority decisions, participation, minority protection, conflict resolution procedures, moderation techniques, tolerance, human and child rights.
