Karl August Böttiger’s Greek poems, which he wrote for Prince Johann von Sachsen, are presented in their entirety for the first time, with a German translation and commentary. The editor, the Dresden philologist Peter Witzmann, deciphers the text for today’s reader, thus enriching our understanding of Böttiger.
