
Tehran - as Iran’s most secular and liberal city - experiences never ending growth, bringing along phenomenon of transformation from low-dense low-rises to high-dense high-rises, population moving towards privileged outskirts and lower-income groups moving to the city center, that is neglected and deteriorates, or rapid development lacking social and technical infrastructure, that causes serious environmental problems. The book documentaries the result of a research-based seminar, where students observed, mappepd, evaluated critically and visualized various layers of the city within broader context of modern middle-eastern city and its socio-cultural, political, economic, and environmental conditions.
