The new photo book by Lucerne’s photographer Emanuel Ammon immerses the reader in the fascinating world of Burma – from an utterly exceptional perspective of a balloon basket. The opportunity to photograph in Burma, and above all from a hot-air balloon, arose for Emanuel Ammon when the renowned balloon pilot Peter Blaser, who had already discovered his passion for this country 20 years earlier, organised a trip there once again. The photographer’s initial reservations about not being able to work unrestricted as a photographer in a land undergoing radical political changes soon vanished in the air. His impressions of this fascinating country and its warm-hearted people – without whose assistance the balloon rides would not have been possible – are now available in the “Burma – Abenteuer in Buddha’s Paradies” photo book.
