The issue presents various case studies of mediated interspecies encounters analyzed from the standpoint of ethics, especially postanthropocentric ethics. The two main media that provide examples of representations of interspecies encounters are literature and film, though the volume also reflects on how the discourse of science can also serve to mediate interspecies encounters.
