John Lodge was the artist who illustrated Dr. Ida Rolf’s book ’Rolfing - The Integration of Human Structures'. At the heart of ‘The Basic Series in All Its Abundance’ are John Lodge's own handwritten teaching notes and sketches, compiled while teaching for the Rolf Institute in the 1980's along with pre-print, handwritten and typewritten versions of ‘Rolfing - The Integration of Human Structures’. The material bears witness to John Lodge’s and Ida Rolf’s quest to understand and teach philosophical, if not spiritual and metaphysical aspects of Structural Integration, aspects that have faded into near oblivion in the 21st century, then giving way to primarily mechanical considerations. David Davis, Dario Di Lorenzo, Cornelia Studer, Fulvio Faudella, Adam Polański and Aleš Urbanczik sorted through material which had been stored in an attic for decades and created this book, reintroducing these ideas to the world of Structural Integration. Neal Powers, Nilce Silveira, Bert Schmitz, Zdenka Šímová, Ludek Šíma, Margaret VanderWaerden and Wendy Walker contribute their written views on the topic.
